We've recently launched our new exosome serums from ( Plated ) Skin Science and have had an amazing response from our customers and staff. There is a reason you might keep hearing about this exosome serum so let's break it down and learn why it's a must have in anyone's skincare routine.
Exosomes have been a buzzy word for a while. Until now we haven't fully been wow'd by any others on that market (aside from our beloved Osmosis Stem Factor), not until we became educated on the technology of Plated and now we are fully intrigued. After researching multiple exosome based companies the studies were underwhelming and as professionals the process of storing the exosomes was daunting. Having to keep them cold, mixing them with a solution etc.... Then along came Plated and everything changed.
A technology developed by a team of cardiologists from the Mayo Clinic. This team of doctors were performing stem cell research on heart transplant patients and in their findings discovered soft tissue regeneration from high levels of exosomes.
So what is an exosome? To put it simply it is a cells message to another cell. Our Plated rep gave us a great example to help understand this process which I found so beneficial in sharing how this technology works. Think of a glass bottle with a message inside, or a "message in a bottle." The exosome is the bottle, the message inside are the contents that will be delivering high level regenerative messages (growth factors, antioxidants, glutathione, peptides and nucleic acids) all of which are naturally occurring. The exosomes are covered in a lipid bilayer ensuring that these messages are delivered to the dermal layer where they need to be to create the change and regeneration in the skin. If you know us, you know we are all about delivery systems often found in medical and clinical grade skincare.
The exosome acts as a lock and key. Think of the exosome on a hunt within in the skin to find areas of damaged cells. When it finds a damaged cell the exosome attaches to the damaged cell like a lock and key where it then gets absorbed inside the cell to repair intrinsically (from the inside out). This helps with overall barrier health support and can target many different skin concerns.
Plated addresses fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating and supporting healthy collagen growth giving a significant plumpness to the skin. In addition it helps with skin tightening by improving the quality of elastin (spanx for the face my friends.) It can address sun spots and stubborn pigmentation while also addressing damage caused by environmental exposure and free radicals.
We have been recommending Plated to all our clients who are preparing or actively going through microneedling treatments to truly amplify results, protect the investment and support a healthy skin barrier. We have also recommended it for our compromised skin clients from rosacea to acne. It results in a significant decrease in redness and inflammatory responses.
So..... you're ready for Plated right? Let's go over the different serum options we have available at Neves:
Intense: Can be used long term or as a jump start. We like pairing Intense with any of our microneedling packages.
Hair: To assist with new healthy hair growth for those who are noticing hair thinning or who want to maintain continued healthy hair growth. It prolongs the phases of hair growth to prevent shedding.
Eye: A targeted exosome eye serum to decrease fine lines, wrinkles and under eye puffiness to improve the quality of the delicate skin around the eyes.
